Detection and Analysis of Asbestos

The right graph shows Raman spectra of asbestos. Asbestos have a needle-like shape and its aspect should be 3:1. Raman image shows a needle-like shape and chrysotile-type spectrum. With our product, asbestos with less 1um size can be detected.

hrysotile-type spectrum and Raman image

In the left graph a Raman spectrum of a sample suspected of containing asbestos is shown. The spectrum is actually coincident with chrysotile. The right figure shows a Raman image at the chrysotile peak of 389 cm-1. The intensity distribution at 389cm-1 is converted to a pseudocolor display, and the long, thin object is identified as asbestos.
